The Most Clever, And Comfortable Sofa We've Tried

Buying a sofa is in many ways a commitment. It’s big, it’s bulky, and it’s there to stay, no matter how many stains or dog hairs it accumulates in the next few months. And when it comes time to move? Unless you’re lucky enough to be moving into a new place with similar dimensions and patient enough to do the loading and unloading from a moving van, your sofa’s headed off to Craigslist.

The co-founders of Burrow had that in mind when they designed a sofa that could be built and taken down in just ten minutes. The modular design means you can add or remove sections when you change homes—or when you acquire another piece of furniture for your already-cramped living room—and the durable fabric means that your favorite couch will still be looking brand-new when you do.

I like that there’s plenty of other smart features built in. The sofas are stain-resistant, so there’s no more fear of spilling your wine while watching Netflix on the couch. They’ve also got a hidden USB charger for when your phone is at three percent but you’re already watching the game. And because each cushion is tufted on one side and untufted on the other, there’s even an option to change the look if you’re like me and change your mind frequently.

There’s currently only one style of sofa available, but it comes as a one-, two-, three-, or four-seater, with five fabric colors and three options for the legs. You can also add an ottoman or a chaise if you like to prop up your legs or you’re looking for more space to double as a snack-holder. That should be enough customizability for even the pickiest of buyers, commitment-shy and all.
