Vanessa Hudgens is Disrupting the USD9.4 Billion Acne Care Market

Vanessa Hudgens is Disrupting the USD9.4 Billion Acne Care Market

With over 48 million Instagram followers watching her every move, Vanessa Hudgens is making waves in the skincare space with targeted solutions to real skincare problems. First up? The multitasking acne, hyperpigmentation, and dull skin correcting Glacial Bay Clay Mask.

The idea for the Glacial Bay Clay Mask came out of a personal need.

Vanessa Hudgens was fed up with the limited options to treat her adult acne and oily skin. Between expensive masks that barely work and drugstore masks with skin stripping ingredients, she was yet to find a gentle, hydrating, yet powerfully detoxifying mask that worked on her acne-prone skin.

So, she decided to make one herself, enlisting the best skincare lab in the country to bring her vision to life, and simultaneously, relaunching her skincare brand KNOW Beauty with renewed focus.

The concept for the new KNOW Beauty was simple: to make targeted products that solve serious skin issues in the easiest way possible. ‘I wanted to create products that slap seamlessly into a skin-care line, rather than trying to take over an entire routine. Because let’s face it, we’ve all spent years trying to figure out what works for our skin and what products we love.” says Hudgens.

First up? One product: the Glacial Bay Clay Mask, a purifying treatment that clears out the pores without drying out the skin. “I have very oily skin, really sensitive skin, and I’ve been dealing with acne for as long as I can remember. I wanted to create a product that solves this issue for me and others like me.”

The mask is so effective, that it has been dubbed the ‘Four Minute Facial’ by Trendhunter, and has won critical acclaim in the beauty industry. Seventeen declared the mask the ‘best blackhead removal mask to combat clogged pores’ and it has been featured on the BestProducts ‘Best Skincare Products of 2023’ list since it launched.

Using natural, vegan, and cruelty free ingredients was paramount to Hudgens. The Glacial Bay Clay Mask contains a unique blend of three different natural clays: Canadian Colloidal Clay - clay sustainably harvested from an active glacier that detoxifies skin and infuses it with minerals and hydration, plus Kaolin and Bentonite Clay - a powerful duo to purify and tighten pores, clear congestion and prevent breakouts.

Other superpower ingredients include Lactic Acid, which aids cell turnover for an even and bright complexion, Licorice Root Extract, a powerful brightening agent, and Giant Sea Kelp, filled with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds.

“It really just checks all the boxes for me, personally — having sensitive, oily, acne-prone and, sometimes, dull, tired and polluted skin," says Hudgens. ‘My skin has never looked this good.’ Customers seem to share her sentiment, with the brand currently pulling an impressive (and near unprecedented) 4.7/5 star rating on Amazon.

We are excited to see what other skincare issues Vanessa is putting her sights on next. Definitely a brand to keep an eye out on!

This purifying facial mask draws out impurities, tightens pores, and restores your complexion to its radiant glow. Made with mineral- infused colloidal clay harvested from an active glacier in British Columbia, perfect for oily, acne-prone, and combination skin.
